im looking for your opinion on the strongest class, out of any of the books. A lot of people believe the cleric is the most powerful class, but i don't know why.
list:
- your opinion of the most powerful class(s)

-what book they are from

-why you think they are the strongest class(s) in your opinion

Oh, I thought, from the thread title, that you were asking for the best class. I see that you are actually asking for the most powerful, my mistake.

Cleric

PHB

Full spellcaster that is almost as good (if not as good) as any arcane caster in offensive utility, but also has a plethora of defensive and reparative spells. They can turn undead, and with the huge selection of turning feats out there, that feature alone is a huge boon to the cleric. The real kicker, though, is that they can do all this in full plate without spell failure.

CoDzilla. Simple, yet brutally effective. You don't even need anything other than the PHB (and monster manual, for druid).

I' d have to say Cleric too. Good spell list, high AC, d8 for HP, domain spells, turning, buffs for other PC's and melee combat options.
