| buckshot9809-09-04, 08:44 PM | What do you think is the best class and why??????? |
| BlaineTog09-09-04, 08:49 PM | There is no such thing as an overall "best" class. |
| DM Zoc09-09-04, 08:51 PM | The best class is in the Miniature's Handbook, and it is called the Healer. As a Healer, you are necessary in combat yet you do not need it to thrive. As a Healer, you can most easily aid the innocent. As a Healer, you are often afforded diplomatic immunity by intelligent opponents (they would rather capture you for themselves). As a Healer, your role is well-defined; you never need to guess hap-hazardly as to which spells you should memorize. As a Healer, nobody expects you to walk down the corridor ahead of everyone else; you're too valuable for that. |
| Stuntman09-09-04, 08:52 PM | The best class is whatever class you can play the best. It is different for each player. |
| wamagni09-09-04, 09:13 PM | Druid! RAWR! They are teh pwnz0rz! With lots of good spells! And wild shape! Buuuuuut you might not like them. I happen to enjoy filling a backpack with holly berry bombs and giving it to an unsuspecting villager as a "Present". But that's just because i'm despicable. Wild shape kicks some real arse though. 'Speshaly with nat. spell. SO PLAY DRUIDS! OR I WILL EAT YOUR BRAINS! |
| JLP09-09-04, 10:51 PM | Bards. |
| Vaalingrade Ashland09-09-04, 10:57 PM | Evil Bards. I will bend you to my will. Just to get a cup of water from three feet away. And I'll do it all while watching bar wenches fight over me. In mud. |
| BlaineTog09-09-04, 11:10 PM | Evil Bards. I will bend you to my will. Just to get a cup of water from three feet away. And I'll do it all while watching bar wenches fight over me. In mud. :nonono: Bad VA! Bad! Evil Bards are uberevil! I typecast you as CE! Now go burn down a village. [/utterly random] ;) |
| Vaalingrade Ashland09-09-04, 11:25 PM | [hypnotic voice] Why don't you burn down that village[/voice] Also, I have to profess my love for the rogue class and all its delicious skill points  |
| MesaCraft09-09-04, 11:29 PM | You are all dead wrong. There is most definately a BEST CLASS. And that class is.... COMMONER. But of course commoner. Who else would be the best? |
| Vintar09-09-04, 11:34 PM | Isn't it obvious - a bardic god. Hyptotism - women - and massive power! :ayyyy!: |
| buckshot9809-10-04, 07:29 AM | There is no such thing as an overall "best" class. NO NO NO I wasnt asking for advice, I wanted to make a fun post. SO KEEP THEM COMIN'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D |
| Settra09-10-04, 10:57 AM | Before I answer your quetion, I'd like to say that THIS TOPIC HAS BEEN BEATEN TO DEATH IN EVERY FORUM LOCATED AT WIZARDS..... having that said, Druid is clearly the best class... why? 2 very good saves... (will and fortitude).... Good base attack... (average).. good spell list... AND WILDSHAPE... plus an awful number of extra abilities... |
| UndeadPenguin09-10-04, 06:25 PM | Roar! Gnomes! Gnomes! R Da Best! |
| BlaineTog09-10-04, 07:01 PM | NO NO NO I wasnt asking for advice, I wanted to make a fun post. SO KEEP THEM COMIN'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :DIf all you wanted was some discussion on people's favorite classes, then one would need to ask just that: "What is your favorite class and why?" FYI. |
| mercurywyrm09-10-04, 10:29 PM | BARD! It is balanced, fun, capable in a variety of situations, and generally the best for a 1 character party (despite most of their abilities being area buffs for allies!) If I was to pick the most powerfull class it would be wizard, the most broken class it would be druid, the class that is most underbalanced sorcerer, and the class which should be be the most powerfull (as they can't and are not supposed to do anyting else) but isn't by far, the fighter, or if I had to pick the class who munchkins can most easily get away with playing, the rogue. But if I were to pick the class that I wouldn't nerf in the hands of a munchkin, or buff in the hands of a newb, or worry about lack of combat or role playing shining points, I would pick the bard. The bard is my friend, your friend, and if he isn't yet he is only a suggestion away from being your friend! :smirk: :twitch:  :inlove: :invasion: :cloud9: |
| Ithilorien09-10-04, 10:30 PM | You can't get more overpowered than cleric. It is closely followed by druid and wizard. Personally I love bards above all else for their flavor and versatality. And who doesn't love muddy bar wenches? |
| Stuntman09-11-04, 01:26 AM | The best class depends on your definition of "best." |
| Shag09-11-04, 11:13 AM | The best class is psion telepatha, good powers, psion feats are so good, can use armors (with the apropiate feats) and with de shield manifestation of races of stone, can manifest without provoking attacks of opportunity. Also monsters with lot of hit points don't have ussually good will saves making them vulnerable to your powers... I want to try the cerebrancer or the illithid slayer (pision 6/fighter 2), make good combos (illithid slayer good AT hitpoints and all powers) |
| The Grinning Pint09-11-04, 11:28 AM | Teh best class is teh expert with ranks in craft (brewing) and craft (cooking and craft (candlemaking) and craft (tablemaking) |
| memberZ09-11-04, 11:35 AM | I have to agree with MesaCraft Commoner : bad BAB bad Saves and only ONE simple weapon Your PC gets killed by a commoner and you get a great humbling experience. And your the butt of jokes at the table for a long time to come. I have a player whose half-elf got killed by a 2nd level commoner. She won't play a half-elf again, and going into towns is a humorous experience for me as she views commoners as a viable threat now. |
| thinkhard09-11-04, 11:57 AM | the best class is no class. As in a barbarian at the dinner table. |
| shimkosis09-11-04, 12:28 PM | Personally, my fav class is the sorc. I love spellcasters, and they can cast their spells at will, without having to memorize them. They have a low AC because of no armor, but slap a +4 mithral chainshirt on him and hes good to go. |
| Shag09-11-04, 01:55 PM | But sorc are very limitated, few spells compared with wizard, and has the equivalent of one level less, I prefer a wizard with a wand instead of a sorc casting always the same spells |
| Settra09-11-04, 02:55 PM | The best class depends on your definition of "best." Wow, that was deep... |
| cowdragon09-11-04, 03:01 PM | Commoner, adventurers get KILLED out there!!! If your DM wont let you take a commoner(because it would be obvious min/maxing) then I like the sorcerer the best. The Cowdragon :mage: |
| Aki Warren09-11-04, 06:55 PM | I like the Hexblade (having recently discovered it) and the Wizard. Why wizards? Because I am the cosmetic surgeon, the Donald Trump, and the most powerful military power in the world! |
| bloodycard09-11-04, 07:05 PM | I like Hexblade too. it is a great class for blackguard but my favorite class is NECROMANCER hahahahahahah! dont ask why. |
