Hey guys,

I need a cleric build. Normaly i play a fighter but my group needs a cleric. But i want to lean more tward support then tank but wouldn't mind being able to hold my own.

Also i wouldn't mind a PrC if you have any cool ones. Actually any cleric build is welcome im just looking for anything.

What kind of alignment are you thinking of? Clerics are in the position that their alignment can affect their abilities quite a bit.

Currently I'm going for a combat cleric. Cleric 5/ Storm Lord 10, Aasimar Earth and Weather Domain. My usual routine is to buff my self for a couple rounds and wade in like a hurricane. Divine Power (4th level), Divine Favor (1st level), and Righteous Might (5th level) are my most used spells. So between those spells I'm getting:

+3 luck bonus to Attack and Damage.
Base Attack equal to character level.
1 Temporary hit point per level.
+6 enhancement bonus to Strength.
Increased reach due to size change.
DR 9/Evil
+4 Size bonus to Strength.
+2 Size bonus to Con. (1 more hit point per level)
+2 enhancement bonus to natural armor.
Effective weapon size increase.

It's really more of a mid range build but you could try for it if you wanna be a melee beast.

If you look in the character optimization board, they have all sorts of great cleric builds there. Click here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=256612) for a list of them.

Probably the most popular is the cleric archer. Here's a thread (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=512395) that explains why. The basic idea is to use the Zen Archery feat in Complete Warrior, which lets you use your Wisdom bonus instead of Dex bonus for ranged attack rolls. The only problem is that clerics aren't proficient with the longbow, but you can take care of that by being an elf, or by taking certain domains.

No matter what, make sure to check out the divine feats in Complete Warrior and Complete Divine. They let you spend turning checks to enhance your power in other ways, like improving your combat ability or spontaneously casting metamagic versions of spells. (Be careful: Divine Metamagic has been errated so that you can only use metamagic feats that you have.)

For prestige classes, take a look at Sacred Exorcist and Radiant Servant of Pelor in Complete Divine. They both have full spellcasting ability and turn undead, with additional powers as well. The Contemplative from Complete Divine is also popular.

If your goal is to buff other party members, you're eventually going to want Persistent Spell from Complete Arcane (also in the SRD). This metamagic feat lets you increase the duration of any spell to 24 hours, but uses up a spell slot 6 levels higher than normal. (Cast the persistent spell the day before you go to the dungeon.) Combining Persistent Spell with Divine Metamagic is fun.
