| jarvis0201-15-06, 12:36 PM | First time playing a cleric and we are starting off at 15th level. I just want to know which domians poeple think are the best. My guys is going to be a heirophant with 60ft. ranged touch spells. |
| Father Dale01-15-06, 12:56 PM | It realy depends on what you plan on doing with your cleric. There are a lot of good domains. Some domains are better for caster-types while others are better for melee types. Some are better for buffers and others for healers. It just depends on what you want to do. Personal favorites are Sun, Fire, Strength, Glory, Magic, and Luck. |
| jarvis0201-15-06, 01:17 PM | I will have quicken and maximize or twin spell divine metamagic. I planned on inflicting a lot and healing from a distance. If I have to I'll get in there, but mainly not. |
| Ocom01-15-06, 01:44 PM | You could also check out the following domains Strength was already mentioned so: Clerity, Demonic and Wrath. These are my Favourite Domains ^^ If you plan on going for a healer you should consider Healing as one and not sure about the other but it should have good damage spells and a good ability. *Will Edit this if i find any good domains* |
| Elemental_Elf01-15-06, 03:14 PM | I prefer any domain that can cast elemental spells, like Fire, Water, Sun, etc. Becasue I love gaining a few levels in Elemental Savant. Other good domains are Cold, Orc, Metal, Destruction, any Domain that gives you new class skills or extra feats (as extras are always good). Also most of the domains already mentioned by the other posters are good choices as well. |
| A_monk_0001-15-06, 03:36 PM | It is really up to the style of play you want, and finding a diety that has both domains you have decided on. My current cleric is Cleric6/Radiant Servant of Pelor 3 with the Healing and Sun domans. I absolutely love it, though it is more of a 'priestly' cleric rather than a 'warrior' cleric. No/Light armor, quarterstaff and the whole bit. Charm + Domination or Deathbound + Undeath are good choices if you plan to be a charismatic proselytizer or master of the undead, respectively. |
| jarvis0201-15-06, 04:17 PM | Can you take any domains out of the spell compendium no matter waht you deity is? There are no deity listings. |
| A_monk_0001-15-06, 04:53 PM | It's my understanding that you take a look at a diety's portfolio and sort of add the ones that make the most sense. It's a tricky thing for some, but not too terrible. I imagine if they happen to release a revised Dieties and Demigods or other somesuch, they will add all the new domains to the dieties that they were thinking of when they came up with said domains. Example: Corellon Larethian would gain the Elf domain, since he is the god of elves. Nerull would probably get Deathbound and Undeath since he is the god of death. Just take a look at their portfolio and at the domains listed in the SC, if it looks like it would be something that god would approve of, generally it is probably ok for them to have that domain. Clear it with your DM and you are good to go. |
| Linklegacy7701-15-06, 06:27 PM | My current Cleric has the Trickery and War domains. Heh heh heh, bluff, disguise, and hide as class skills for a cleric... |
