I posted this in another group but thought I might get more responses here. I’m going to be in a new campaign using a gestalt character and was wondering what some of you thought was the best fighter / magic using combo would be. My first thought is to do the classic Fighter/Wizard combo because of all the feats and spells you get in the end. Am I wrong? With so many prestige classes you can very in to I was just wondering what the best classes to start in is and with what goal some of you thought to have

Barbarian/Warmage (from CARC)

Use Rage to pound things in melee, use Warmage spells to pound things at range.

Only problem is a slight mad. You'll need a moderate Dex, Good Str and Cha and a reasonable Int. After that, get WM 8th and you're practically made forever.

you gotta be wicked manly, and go for warmage/ barbarian. simply put, manliest thing ever. like, you can't get more manly. if Arnold Scwarzenager was a dnd charcter, this would be him (joke). you serve nor purpose other than to MAKE THINGS DIE. you hit really hard, and when things are being obstinate, you freakin' desintegrade em. you do not F around. worse comes to worse and you really need a stat boost, take a convenient monster race, if the game is suited for it.

ok, no that i've espoused the beauties of the warmage/ barbarian, wrap your mind about this one...

warmage/ favored soul. damage monkey, arcane caster, buffer, you name it. this class has everything you could ever need. you get an almost-full BAB progression, better spell progression than the cleric. both classes cast from charisma (i think), so you won't need to spread around points to get a respectable caster modifyer. for this one, you can concentrate on Str. for damage, Cha. for spells, and Dex for armor, since you shouldn't wear anything heavier than light armor, or you lose out on your arcane thrashing. a good Con. is a plus, as is wisdom. oh god, i gotta look into this one some more...
