| VXgas11-03-06, 01:06 PM | Hi, I have created a Githzerai - Ninja 1 (i'm using the Racial Class option of the Complete Psionic) Githzerai got naturally psionic and exceptionnal Dex (20 for my character) What's for you, the best multiclass for this Ninja and then the best Prestige Class for the futur ? Thx -= VX =- |
| The_Shaman11-03-06, 01:15 PM | Monk is nice for the synergy of unarmored attacks, and ranger for the similar skills, high BAB, and reliance on light/no armor. Also, ranger spells tend to be similar with some of the mystical abilities ninja are famous for, and the favourite enemy (or favourite organization, if you use the UA variant) is a great feature for a ninja. As for a prestige class... Shou disciple allows flurry with any weapon (and the wording may suggest it stacks with monk levels, as monk unarmed progression is quite close to the improvable flurry), but it would depend on what you want to stress most. Some ideas: - Nightsong enforcer (CAdv) - great teamwork, good attack and decent SA progression - Nightsong infiltrator (-//-) - poorer sneak attack and BAB, more stealth and thief skills - Assassin (DM) - naturally, poison use and death attack are good in any case - Shadowdancer (DM) - I don't know about githzerai ninja and what they'd do, but shadow jump and tricks are quite useful. Try to persuade the DM not to treat shadows as your familiars (i.e. take XP when they die or are dismissed) and you have a great fighiting style. Arguably the Ninja of the Crescent Moon (Song and Shadow, not updated) is the best as it gives full BAB, full SA, and extra stuff, but if you multiclass ninja with either monk or ranger you don't lose a lot of levels. |

NotCM was errated to be 3/4 BAB. And then it was replaced entirely by the Complete Adventurer Ninja (I know, doesn't make sense, but that's what the WotC class update table said). Of the other suggestions: Ranger: This does work well, I agree Monk/Rogue: OK, gets you evasion early, not super Shadowdancer: Pretty nice, much better mix with Ninja than Rogue. Master Thrower: Very nice Assassin: Not good, too much multiple-ability dependency (Int/Wis) and you already can use poison Nightsong anything: requires evasion, meaning it takes too long to get into. Psychic Warrior: Good wisdom synergy And Dread Pirate, of course. Search for the "uber build: tongue in cheek" build on the C/O boards for the Ninja/Pirate/dinosaur build. |
| VXgas11-06-06, 05:25 AM | Thanks for your suggestions... Psychic Warrior and Shadow Dancer seems to be some good choice for Prestige Class. |
| The_Shaman11-06-06, 09:39 AM | Psychic warrior is not a prestige class, though... If your campaign has psionics and you take levels in psychic warrior, the elocater or the PrC from CAdv would be the best options imo. Edit: Forgot the master thrower, sorry. It can make for a mean ninja, and throwing shurikens/daggers fits the concept to a T. The invisible blade can also be nice if you are using daggers, by the way. Feint as a free action can be great for a ninja. Edit 2: So have the CO people reached the Ninja - Pirate - Dinosaur - Cyborg/Mech or Vampire level already? |
| Iarmeister11-06-06, 10:05 AM | I actually like the Ghost-Faced Killer PrC. You get the Ghost-Step (invisible) for another amount of x's per day that doesn't count against your ki pool, full BAB, your Sudden Strike continues to progress unabated, and Frightful Attack and Frightful Cleave are nothing to scoff at. Another rout you might want to look into is the Shadow Blade from ToM. It's flavor is really cool, as is it's Unseen Weapon class feature that continues to improve over the entire 10 levels. Hope this helps some... |
| RobbyPants11-06-06, 10:13 AM | I second the Ghost-Face Killer; however, you'll want to pick up a strong two-handed weapon if you plan on making any use of that Power Attack feat. I have a GFK PC I created, but I went more of the route of fighter/rogue to meet the prereqs a bit more quickly. I made him an orc to capitalize on a high Str score (also nice with the 2 handed weapons) |
