Now then, which classes make great combos. Cleric/fighter hast to be a fun combo, better than a mage/fighter by a long way, get to wear armour.

Rogue/mage, sneak attack damage with spells. And other juicy bonuses.

What'll do ya'll reckon, or even know of a decent combo you already tested and proved deadly.

The BEST Multiclass Melee oriented PC? Using only published material would, of course, be the Frenzied berzerker. Barb 6/fighter 2/FB would rock anything a DM throws at it. Only goin solo though, becuase he would kill EVERYONE on the battle field. Now, if you use Homebrew stuff, the weapon my DM came up with would multiply the damage on this two-fold. It is called the hellbringer flail, and the name says it all. It is based on the chain golem's attack, and is pretty much consisting of a BIG A$$ rock attached on a chain, and does 7d6 damage as a full-round action.

The close second would be a Ranger 3/Fighter 3/GreatBlade Soldier (from d&dwiki) weilding a Gargantuan Greatsword. GBS lets you use a weapon 3 size categories abouve you, and if you take halfgiant as your class, it becomes a collosal weapon. Now, that is a powerful melee character. Not playable, but still kicks ass.
