| P33KAJ3W03-21-05, 07:35 PM | I do not have time to read all the core classes (we can not all be Shaddowfoot) but I am interested in looking over the best core classes (like the Blue Mage) and using 10 in my next campaign. I do not want classes that supersed the core classes (like the amazing "Ultimate" series) So please post your favorites so I can look over them. One I would love to see is a highly specialized summoner mage, I may even write one up unless there is a good one. Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcorer, and Wizard those are the Core classes. Anything not in the PHB is not Core. Also you ask people not to suggest their own homebrew classes, but that seems to be what you want to see. |

I like both my Shadowknight (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=378061) and Mage Blade (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=385238) base classes. I like the shadowknight because it fulfills the "dark knight" archetype without making the blackguard obsolete, and I like the mage blade because it pulls off the fighter/mage hybrid effectively right from level one. I think they both have some very nice flavor, too. Edit: Oops, I didn't see the bit about not suggesting your own classes. I might not agree with that, but disregard the above post in any case. |
| TheDragonmaster03-22-05, 05:21 AM | You are talking about base classes (Non-Prestige Classes). Not Core Classes (PHB). It also seems that you want them to be homebrew (My impression). AND it seems like you want people to only post homebrew base classes that others have made. :confused: |

Still, I think it would be a lot more efficient for people to just recommend their own base classes, as that's the most likely to produce responses. |

Not variants, but brand new Core Classes. 2) The words Base Class or Core Class are simply semantics and mean the same thing. A class that goes on for the full 20 levels, and has no prereqs. There's no need to get uptight about such simple terminology.
