Best prestige for barbarian? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Well, Frenzied Berserker is considered classical (though a bit too single-minded for my tastes), and if you can tolerate being a half-psychotic half-orc, Eye of Gruumsh is tough too. Theoretically, an animal lord is also a possibility, but iirc you don't gain rage abilities. A rage mage, on the other hand, is an unorthodoxal version of a barbarian/arcanist (unlikely concept at best, though. Other possiblities are the Ravager and (for a barb/bard) warchanter.

Me, I consider one class to be almost too good to be allowed (in more ways than one). If your barbarian is CG, with one heck of an emphasis on the "G", you may dare to think about the Champion of Gwynharwyf (Exalted Deeds). It continues almost anything the barbarian has (rage and DR), improves it, and gives you some spells and paladin features. On the downside, you have to RP an exalted character, and that can be a serious problem. Basically, paladins should be school bullies compared to you. But then again, when you start fighting, you kick not just posteriors, but all other body parts all over the place.
