Best Race for a Cleric [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-08-05, 08:32 PM I stated it in the races forum, so i'll say it here too, aasimars(in the SRD and the planar handbook), at +1 la make good clerics.

Yepp, you don't get much better than dwarf... for any class!

07-08-05, 09:21 PM Human, the bonus feat help a lot and the extra skill point means you don't have to put as much into int.

07-10-05, 02:05 PM Id Say it all depends on which god you want to follow...but either human or dwarf, and to a lesser extent perhaps elves if you would wish to go for the elven pantheon.

+6 Wis, 20 feet fly (+0 LA, ECL 0). Of course then your DM will take your savage species book and proceed to beat you into submission with it.

07-18-05, 05:54 PM Elves typically make the best Archer Clerics. Githzeri make excellent Sacred Fists. Half-Celestials are worthwile if the DM allows LA buyoff rules.

07-18-05, 05:59 PM I second Aramil's vote for Aasimars. That boni to WIS and CHA are immensely useful. Better WIS is more spells and more powerful spells. More CHA means more turn attempts, which means more / better divine metamagic. And all for only +1 LA.

The next best race for my vote would definitely be humans. That feat and skill points really helps out.
