Just wondering what everyone thought the best race for a Warlock/Blood Magus would be from the Forgotten Realms' available races.

I recommend you something without a penalty to Constitution. Human or a Tiefling.

I'd actually suggest the Hellbred race, from Fiendish Codex II. Has a very cool anti-hero flavor. Also, since the Blood Magus requires that you actually *die* at some point, the race is a great way to explain how that happened.

With how harsh of a pre-req that is, with the PrC not being all that great, most DMs would likely let you RP around it. I was allowed to both have been dead pre-campaign(though didn't end up going Blood Magus), another allowed me to have drowned and been saved from that.

Also, the races he just asked for are from FR. Not anything else, at least pay attention when you answer please...

Lesser Tiefling might have fun with this (okay, lesser aasimar would be even better, but an aasimar warlock is a study in contradictions), apart from that I'm wondering if the Krinth (Champions of Ruin) would fit it - I think it's a very thematic race, and might allow some interesting flavor although the penalty to charisma might impact your incantations' DCs.

As for something more traditional, hmm... you can always play a human, but if you want a more special touch, a gnome might be even better. Gnome warlocks... Fear the power of the long-nosed ones! Strongheart halfling could also be good, although it doesn't fit that well flavorwise - the attack bonus from being small fits a warlock or a warmage well, and an extra feat is an extra feat. Plus, wielding dark and powerful magic is a great way to show those pesky long-legged buffoons who's the big man in town.

Try to get Hellbred.
