Tome of Magic has the Binder. He is a class.
There are also feats to emulate his abilities in ToM (though only low level abilities, the class is better).

But yeah, it can be a fun class.

The class allows you bind "vestiges" of forgotten god-like beings and gain a small portion of their power. By binding different vestiges a Binder can emulate other classes and gain unique supernatural abilties.

Several of the vestiges (beings you strike your pacts with) are actually D&D adaptations of the 72 demons.

06-07-07, 02:15 PM I adapted the class by remaining the vestiges and having them become like the Haitian Loa of Voodoo where the spirit rides in the body. My DM really like that adaptation. I think the binder is a interesting and very versatile class.

I'm currently working on an adaptation of the class to act as Clerics in a traditional campaign setting, since I don't want to deal with true Vancian Casting. So far, I'm having a little trouble balancing it (I really want to utilize Domain Spell sla's, but being able to Enlarge Person every 6th round gets pretty stupid pretty quick), but I'm hopeful. This is part of the reason the two projects in my sig are suffering at the moment.
