The paladin has a 20 lvl progresion it is a base class. why shouldn't the blackguard have the same possiblity just the paladin with an evil twist?

anyone for/against

UA has Alt. to Paladins. Nuetral and Evil Paladins are always a Plus.

Actually I think it should be the other way round, in my campaign world I've made paladins a prestige class, the paladin fits better in as a prestige class and then used a knight core class to make up for the lack of the paladin

Paladin as a PrC (http://www.wakinglands.com/htm_files/the_prestige_classes_page.htm)

This site has a decent version of the paladin to be taken as a PrC, as well as a redux of some other PrC's and classes.
