| Jurgis03-08-06, 07:42 PM | I really like Blackguards for flavor, and was thinking of going into it from my Evil character, but...I've been looking at it, and they seem to me to be somewhat gimped. Their bonuses like aura of despair and smite good are decent, but as far as spellcasting goes, it seems like their spell-list kinda sucks. Considering that you can't takw this prestige class until 6th or so, the spells they can cast are equivalent to those of a wiz/sorc or cleric much lower. For example, summon monster 1? Why would I ever want to summon something that's hardly useful at level 2 at level 7? I'm sure I'm missing something, or is this just a useless class? |
