| nonsi08-27-07, 04:07 PM | I have this image in my head of an elegant and agile (full BAB) melee class, wearing no armor and wielding just a longsword in a 1-handed fighting style. This class would benefit most of all from high dexterity and charisma, and gain an impressive boost from having high ranks in Balance and Perform (dance). Did anyone here ever try to make one or seen something that can be used to build on ? Anyone cares to offer suggestions ? |
| bkdubs12308-27-07, 04:22 PM | Well... um... hmm. I played this build (existing WotC classes mind you) in a PvP game once. I liked it so much I decided to roll it up from scratch the next time I started a new campaign. Monk 3 Swashbuckler 3 Duskblade 3 Blade Dancer (OA) 1. OR you could take a look at the revised Swashbuckler in my sig. I'm starting to be quite happy with it. |

No doubt - fluff wise, your swashbuckler is the best melee-focused base class I've seen (still lacking description of Deadly Riposte though). However, neither it nor your multiclass build has any combat maneuvers or direct continuous bonus (hit / damage / AC ...) related to Perform (dance) - and that should be a main issue about being a Blade DANCER. |
| bkdubs12308-27-07, 04:48 PM | Oh, yes, that is a very good one. I entirely forgot about the Battle Dancer class from Dragon Magazine Compendium. You can definitely play around with that! Oh, and thanks a lot for the complement on my class (as unwarranted as it may be)! |
