If you read the description of the prestige classes that list "+1 level of existing arcane spellcasting class," or something similar, it explains exactly what you need to know.

i.e. you're Blood Magus levels do stack, as you put it, but you don't get any other benefits (not that a sorcerer has any).

do excuse him, some people are just jerks who would rather write 50+ words to condescendingly tell how you need to justread everything while etalicizing becuase you get +1 point towards getting on the cover of internet tough guy magazine for acting like that rather then responding like a normal non pompous human being (who doesnt realize not everyone can shell out for every book) such as the following reply, to show him how.

Yes.

simply put, almost any caster based PrC will offer you increases in your spells per day and caster level.

Some may not do it on every level, for example (IIRC) the Elemental Savant (CArc) offers you a 10 level PrC, and 7 of them 'stack' with your base casting class.

For the ones that have some 'skip levels' it is often recommended that you take the feat Practiced Spellcaster (also from CArc) since it helps keep your caster level on par with your actual total level...

Overall, if you are playing a caster, CArc and CM are both excellent books. But since CM builds on classes introduced in CArc, it may be better to get CAr first.

If you're looking for Sorcerer PrC's, get Complete Arcane. It is one of the best Complete books, no, I think it is the best one.

Yes.
I'm sorry, but was Mort supposed to assume that the OP did not own Complete Arcane? I mean, he did ask about a PrC featured in it and the question was worded in such a manner as to indicate that he did, in fact, have it.

So stop the verbal abuse. You are in no position to attack him this way.

Also, you misused the term "internet tough guy".
