twentythree 10-15-03, 03:34 AM	OK so here goes: I'm making a Blood Magus from "tome & Blood"... This character gets the ability to use the spell "Death Knell" as an ability... The questions are: Would Good characters have a problem with me using this ability? Would Lawful ones? To whom would they have a problem with me doing it TO? and finally, is there any evidence on the body that it has been done after the spell is complete? If there is no evidence I could try to do it out of their sight or something... anyway, what does everyone think?
sacremon 10-15-03, 08:57 AM	Lawful? No. Good? Perhaps. IIRC, Death Knell is an evil spell. Using it frequently might shift your character toward an evil alignment, as adjudicated by the DM. Unless someone were looking closely when a character uses the spell, I don't see how anyone could tell that the spell had been used. The victim merely goes from dying to dead on the spot, rather than bleeding to death over several rounds.
Kaervek 10-15-03, 10:09 AM	Actually, I would suggest that it leaves some residual magic, obviously of the Necromancy school. However, the source of the magic is not obvious, so you should be safe. Also, Death Knell (IMO) can be cast by a Neutral (with respect to Good and Evil) character without having any adverse effects.
