Has anybody used Bloodlines from Unearthed Arcana?
Were they worth it?
Were they fun?

One of our players took a silver dragon bloodline for flavor but it hasn't helped her too much in game. I think some are better than others, I guess it depends on what you want to do with your character. As DM, in a different game, I'm working on a group of bad guys with a bloodline...

Kobolds with a Dread Linnorm (modified dragon) bloodline. Game starts this Sunday, we'll see how it pans out.

I tried them out, but the loss of levels over time really was not worth the bonuses... I have found that creating a sort of set of heritor feats (like the abyssal heritor feats or the draconic ones from the races of dragon) works better to explore this kind of heritage.

Bloodlines work pretty decently with Martial Adepts & other combat classes(such as Fighter), but kinda suck for casters & psions, who need the spells per day or power points.

I agree. The loss of levels is not worth the benefits gained. You're better off making it a template of sorts with the abilities coming in at the appropriate level and add a +1 LA for the major or intermediate lines and make it a feat for the minor line and perhaps intermediate lines.

Yeah. That's what I kinda thought.
Thanks.
