just wondering what other people have interpretted this prestige class as.

Bloodstorm Blade is a prestige class in Tome of Battle: the Book of Nine Swords on page 100. I just have three questions

Lightning ricochet suggests that you no longer need to use an Iron heart maneuver to make a weapon come back to you since in order to make multiple attacks per round with throwing one weapon you need to use the same maneuver twice or more times in the same round. Am I correct in assuming this?

what's the point of blood wind ricochet if I could just make the weapon come back to me and throw it at another foe? why waste the maneuver? just to make it look cool?

am I correct in assuming that with thunderous throw I can use a maneuver through it since it is in all respects considered a melee attack and all abilities feats etc that enhance a melee attack are included into this "thrown" melee attack.

if someone could direct me to a "all about bloodstorm blades" page would be useful.

thank you

Well, there's cover issues and the fact that ranged weapon ranges happen to be TERRIBLE, which means that Ricochet allows for different ranges depending on the order at which you strike (since every throw begins at the opponent you last hit). That's actually about it, as far as I can remember.

And, this is somewhat grey area, but I believe the majority of us say "Yes, you can do this." to your last question.

Ok just making sure someone found the reason behind blood wind ricochet. and I wanted to see if there was any other use for it.

what about my first question?

am I correct in assuming that after lighting ricochet I don't need to burn a maneuver to make the weapon come back to me?

You're correct in assuming that Lightning Ricochet makes Returning Attacks sort of useless.

Blood Wind Ricochet's primary use is to avoid range and cover penalties when you opt to attack multiple opponents. You could, for example, strike four enemies in a line, granting them no cover bonus to AC. While the range of weapons you throw through the Throw Anything feat isn't impressive, keep in mind that you can use Blood Wind Ricochet (and Thunderous Throw) with any thrown weapon, including javelins (which carry a 30-foot range increment, or 60-foot with Far Throw). Using this maneuver is basically telling your opponents that cover is useless. Who cares if the fighter is blocking the wizard? Just attack the fighter AND the wizard at no penalty.

And when you're using Thunderous Throw, you can make maneuvers that normally require melee attacks at range.
