| mandos1302-05-08, 01:22 AM | you might want to put a bit more work into this. list saves, bab, skills, etc all in a nice little chart like other ppl do. prolly have better feedback if you do i'd like to see you develop it a bit more |

| infernos702-06-08, 03:56 PM | tatoo focus: requirements spell focus (any) allows player to remove one spell from his known spells list. this spell must be from the school of magic his spell focus feat is in. the player may use this spell 3 times a day as a spell like ability. character also gets blue glowing tatoos of arcane runes all over his body.if these tatoos are removed, they come back in d4 hours. during this period, the tatoos may be set to a different spell. if this happens, the character makes a DC 25 fort save or take d6 temporary constitution damage. this feat may not be used for a ninth level or epic spell |
| LSMFT02-06-08, 04:01 PM | Skill points? Class Skills? Re: the special abilities Are they spell-like? Super natural? level 2: blue shield 1 per day (increases spell resistance by 10 times class level, if next spell is resisted, it rebounds on the caster)Hmm. So a 5th level blue mage would have SR 50? And you have to clean this up. The “once per day” thing leads me to believe that you have to activate it some how. So it is a standard action to activate, free, swift? Once you activate it, how long does it last? Next time you’re hit by a spell? I would also look at the way it “rebounds.” If I resist a fireball, does it bounce back? Why? Does the guy who was standing next to me still get burned? +1 caster levelIs this a bonus to my just caster-level, or is this increasing my ability to cast spells a like a “+1 level of existing class” you get from other caster PrCs. If the former, do I get any increase in casting ability at all? level 5:silver fire( deal d2 damage to target spellcaster for each of the targets prepared spellsIs there a range on this? Also, does it do anything to casters who do not prepare spells? |

For the sake of clarity, you should name a homebrewed feat something else. (Such changes in name should be more significant that misspelling the words used.) 2) Are you high? SLAs are far better than spells (no components, typically no xp costs) and while losing a known spell usually is no fun, with this feat, you still get to use it. As a spell-like. Three times a day. And, when the spell ceases to be useful, I can switch it to something better. |
| Krusk02-06-08, 04:19 PM | Aside from the formatting and general briefness of the whole thing i had another thing to ask. What is a blue sorcerer? please give some sort of brief basic explanation as to what the class is/does. Otherwise no one knows if you hit your concept spot on, or maybe you are missing a few ideas. |
| infernos702-06-08, 05:06 PM | blue shield lasts for 1 round. it is a standard action to activate when I say the spell "rebounds" the spells target is switched to the caster of the spell. tattoo focus has been renamed to "Azure tattoos" thanks for your imput ill try to make the class better :) |
| LSMFT02-06-08, 05:25 PM | blue shield lasts for 1 round. it is a standard action to activate when I say the spell "rebounds" the spells target is switched to the caster of the spell. But some spells can be resisted by SR, but do not have "targets," e.g. an area spell like Fireball. You may want to look at the spell Spell Turning to see more on that. thanks for your imput ill try to make the class betterYou are most in need of clairity at this point. It sometimes seems like D&Ds descriptions are long and overly complex, but there is a reason. Better you give too much information on how something works than too little. tattoo focus has been renamed to "Azure tattoos"I was probably a bit too harsh in my first critique, sorry, but you should look at similar ways that casters can get SLAs, like through the Archmage PrC or the Innate Spell feat. Your version is just too powerful. If you look at those other ways, take note of the minimum level at which they can be achieved and the total prerequisites for them. Note the inclusion of things about xp costs still needing to be paid. At a minimum, your feat needs things like this to reign it in. (Casters are already very powerful. They don't need more.) |
| infernos702-06-08, 05:42 PM | +1 caster level = +1 of existing class as for the spell like ability question dude, this class is only accessable to sorcerers, they get like 5 of their best spells if they have a good charisma score. by lvl 16, they should have at least 20, at most, 24 [I]without[I] any charisma increases. thats 5 lvl7 spells per day. they loose 2 (at least) castings of their favorite spell. silver fire has 30 foot range. it deals d2 (destructive impulse) damage per uncast spell the target has (if the target has 10 spells per day [dont dare quote and question this] and they cast three, they take 7d2 damage from silver fire. the blue sorcerers are an order of sorcerers dedicated to the eradication of wizards. this is because wizards are behind practacally all doomsday scenarios and far realm incursions in DND history, followed closely by clerics |
| infernos702-06-08, 05:47 PM | sorry I was unclear about targeting. if the blue sorcerer is under threat from a hostile area affect spell, it can be reflected by the blue shield. okay, Azure tattoos has been changed to 2 uses per day blue shield lasts for one round per blue sorcerer level. in this time, hostile spellcasters are unaware of it untill a spell rebounds. alternatively, the blue sorcerer may use it as a free action in responce to an enemy wizard. (yes I meant wizard) if used in this way, the blue shield only deflects the spell it was used in reaction to |
