Bluemage/Redmage class? [Archive] - Wizards Community

And just to add, Red Mage is from FF1. Blue Mage (as far as I know) is from FF Tactics. FF 11 is barely FF. It's like WOW with moogles.

I don't remember there being a blue mage in FF Tactics. The only two FF games I've ever seriously played are FF1 and FF Tactics.

As for a red mage, you can probably multiclass one if you want. It seems like it'd be a combination Fighter/Cleric/Wizard. I'd recommend a level of Spellsword and 10 levels of Mystic Theruge. It wouldn't be a very powerful combination, but then again, in FF1, the red mage was pretty weak too ;)

Other than that, try a Paladin/Battle Sorcerer gish. It will be partially lacking in the divine magic department, but it will be a decent fighter/wizard type with a bit of holy flavor.

I am currently developing a Red mage and a Blue mage class. The thread is gonna be named Blue mage, FF style. The BM is more focused on learning creature magic than spells, unlike the example above.

Oh, and the first FF to feature a Blue mage was FF5. Red and Blue are both in 11.

09-06-07, 12:39 PM I don't know how similar to the FF series it is, but I like to think this red mage (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=776302) has promise as a class.

Also, FFT Advance (Game Boy Advance) has a blue mage. :) FFT doesn't.

09-06-07, 07:57 PM Red Mages are pretty easy to make as a Bard variant without Bardic Music.

Blue Mages can probably be done as a heavily modified Spellthief with ranged spellthieving abilities.
