03-01-07, 01:21 PM I'm looking for a bodyguard prc for one of the players in my game. It is set in dragonlance shortly after the Cataclysm. He is a minataur that has been hired to protect a wizard.

Although it wasn't updated to 3.5, there was a Devoted Defender PrC in Sword and Fist that is the penultimate bodyguard. It gains big benefits when defending its charge, including deflecting attacks aimed at its charge and switching places with the charge as a mechanical approximation of diving in front of attacks he can't deflect.

The closest thing that appears in 3.5 would be the Knight (PHB2) or the Crusader (Tome of Battle) base classes, possibly with the Goad feat (Complete Adventurer). The crusader will need to specialize in Devoted Spirit.

Neither. The Knight Protector was an update of the Knight Protector of the Great Kingdom (also in Sword and Fist) and the BoED classes were all new.
