| ShaRd200008-28-06, 01:05 PM | I was flipping through Player's Handbook 2, and I found Ki Blast, and Fiery Ki Defense... they both say that a monk can take it as his level 8 bonus feat... I never saw that in the monk progression in either v3, or 3.5... Maybe they're saying that you can forego your lvl 6 bonus feat, to take it later as either of these 2 ? I dunno... Also, a monk's daily uses of stunning fist = his character level right? |
| Asurya08-29-06, 03:22 AM | concerning the feat, i dunno, as for the daily alottement, a monk can do it X/day, where X=(monk's levels+sum[all PrC's levels stating "monk abilities" in their description])+(sum[all multiclass and other PrC's levels]/4) |
| Quandi08-29-06, 07:15 PM | theres a sort of monk feat tree in the PHB 2 and it offer variantions and how it works is that a monk of 2nd lvl can opt to get firey ki strike as his bonus feat instead of the normal 2 he can chose from. Then at lvl 8 if the monk took FKS at lvl 2 and still has a BAB of +6 (meaning multiclass monk might not have a high enough BAB) he can get Ki Blast as a bonus feat, this situation doenst replace a feat but can only be gotten if youve done the 2 steps mentioned above |

I liked attaining level 8 as a monk - the extra attack, saves/bab and damage really made a difference over level 7. But there isn't even a minor ability like wholeness of body to swap out. |
