Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Bouncers are proficient with club, crossbow (light or heavy), dagger, handaxe, gauntlet, javelin, kama, nunchaku, quarterstaff, sai, shuriken, siangham, and sling. Bouncers are not proficient with any armor or shields When wearing armor, using a shield, or carrying a medium or heavy load, a bouncer loses his AC bonus, as well as his shadow run ability. AC Bonus (Ex): When unarmored and unencumbered, the bouncer adds his Charisma bonus (if any) to his AC. In addition, a bouncer gains a +1 bonus to AC at 5th level. This bonus increases by 1 for every five bouncer levels thereafter (+2 at 10th, +3 at 15th, and +4 at 20th level). These bonuses to AC apply even against touch attacks or when the bouncer is flat-footed. He loses these bonuses when he is immobilized or helpless, when he wears any armor, when he carries a shield, or when he carries a medium or heavy load. Unarmed Strike: At 1st level, a bouncer gains Improved Unarmed Strike as a bonus feat. A bouncer’s attacks may be with either fist interchangeably or even from elbows, knees, and feet. This means that a bouncer may even make unarmed strikes with his hands full. There is no such thing as an off-hand attack for a bouncer striking unarmed. A monk may thus apply her full Strength bonus on damage rolls for all her unarmed strikes. Usually a bouncer’s unarmed strikes deal lethal damage, but he can choose to deal nonlethal damage instead with no penalty on his attack roll. He has the same choice to deal lethal or nonlethal damage while grappling. A bouncer’s unarmed strike is treated both as a manufactured weapon and a natural weapon for the purpose of spells and effects that enhance or improve either manufactured weapons or natural weapons. Burning Rave: At 1st level, a bouncer gains Two-Weapon Fighting as a bonus feat, even if he does not meet the normal prerequisites. At 5th level, a bouncer only suffers a –1 penalty to attack rolls when using his unarmed strikes. At 6th level, a bouncer gains Two-Weapon Defense, even if he does not meet the normal prerequisites. The penalty for Two-Weapon fighting (with unarmed strikes) disappears entirely at 9th level. At 13th level, he gains a +1 bonus to attack rolls when Two-Weapon Fighting (with unarmed strikes), which improves to +2 at 17th level. Gauntlet: At 1st level, a bouncer may choose to purchase and equip gauntlets. He suffers no penalty for equipping them, and may add the gauntlet damage to his unarmed strike damage. For example, an 8th level bouncer with gauntlets would deal 1d10 + 1d3 damage (without Str bonus). The bouncer can only deal lethal damage with gauntlets equipped. Evasion (Ex): At 2nd level or higher if a bouncer makes a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally deals half damage on a successful save, he instead takes no damage. Evasion can be used only if a bouncer is wearing light armor or no armor. A helpless bouncer does not gain the benefit of evasion. Shadow Dash (Ex): At 3rd level, a monk gains an enhancement bonus to his speed equal to his Constitution modifier + 1/2 his Bouncer level x 5. Meteor Strike (Su): At 4th level, a bouncer’s unarmed attacks have become highly empowered. His unarmed attacks are treated as magic weapons for the purpose of dealing damage to creatures with damage reduction. Meteor strike improves with the character’s monk level. At 10th level, his unarmed attacks are also treated as chaotic weapons for the bouncer of dealing damage to creatures with damage reduction. At 16th level, his unarmed attacks are treated as adamantine weapons for the purpose of dealing damage to creatures with damage reduction and bypassing hardness. Different Beat (Su): At 7th level or higher, a bouncer can heal his own wounds. He can heal a number of hit points of damage equal to twice his current bouncer level each day, and he can spread this healing out among several uses. Improved Evasion (Ex): At 9th level, a bouncer’s evasion ability improves. He still takes no damage on a successful Reflex saving throw against attacks, but henceforth he takes only half damage on a failed save. A helpless bouncer does not gain the benefit of improved evasion. Dolphin Blow (Su): Starting at 15th level, a bouncer can set up vibrations within the body of another creature that can thereafter be fatal if the bouncer so desires. He can use this dolphin blow attack once a week, and he must announce her intent before making his attack roll. Constructs, oozes, plants, undead, incorporeal creatures, and creatures immune to critical hits cannot be affected. Otherwise, if the bouncer strikes successfully and the target takes damage from the blow, the dolphin blow attack succeeds. Thereafter the bouncer can try to slay the victim at any later time, as long as the attempt is made within a number of days equal to his bouncer level. To make such an attempt, the bouncer merely wills the target to die (a free action), and unless the target makes a Fortitude saving throw (DC 10 + 1/2 the monk’s level + the bouncer’s Cha modifier), it dies. If the saving throw is successful, the target is no longer in danger from that particular dolphin blow attack, but it may still be affected by another one at a later time. |

| TemporalEnergon03-20-05, 02:48 PM | Good non-monk unarmed fighter, but why give it timeless body? This class seems more about learning how to pummel more efficiently than mastery of the self (like the monk). |
| Insane Pixie03-20-05, 03:10 PM | Hmmm. Good point. I just wanted it not to lose Str and Con...guess I'll slash it. Do you think that raising the unarmed damage would be a good idea? I was thinking a lot about that, but didn't want it to become unbalanced...I was going to do a chart between Medium Monk/Large Monk... |

| tiluvias9903-20-05, 09:35 PM | Write some flavor text. tell us what you envision this class as, not just a bunch of assorted abilities. Is this supposed to represent a real bouncer? just any sort of brawler? some dude from The Bouncer video game? give a couple paragraphs telling about the class, and use that text to justify the abilities you give the bouncer. when I think of a bouncer, i don't think of somebody running insanely fast and killing someone in one blow (shadow dash and dolphin blow, respectively). obviously our views are different. what do you think of when you think of a bouncer? ... also, there's no need to bump so often. wait more than a couple hours, I believe the standard is bumping after a couple of days. |
| DM Denubis03-20-05, 10:35 PM | You can also bump after you change things significantly. That's what we people who rarely get attention do, anyway. *Mumbles about Cleric varient.* |
