brains over brawn, factotum class ability [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-07-07, 05:50 PM Does the Brains over Brawn (ex) ability allow the factotum to add their intelligence on strength checks, dex checks and skills (based on str and dex) in addition to the normal relevant ability OR in place of? The wording seems clear to me that it is in addition to... "At 3rd level you gain your Intelligence bonus as a modifier..." but I jes wanted to check.

For example: for a trip attempt a factotum, of 3rd level or higher, would roll a d20 and add his STR bonus and itelligence bonus to his opposed roll, correct?

05-10-07, 09:16 PM Yeah, I whipped out the Dungeonscape and looked at it myself. It would seem as though they get both bonuses, but this seems like it might be a little overpowered. Either way, I'd say go with both.
