The only truly broken character I have seen was a Vow of Poverty monk and it was quite amusing/frustrating as a DM for a player using it.
Now that person is running a campaign, and I want to make an extremely broken character to make his life a living Hell.
I have access to the internet, obviously, and so I have access to any and all classes and races.
Ability Scores are to be made with a 36 point buy, we like our things uber powerful. He also said that we may have to fight each other to the death, so it has to be able to stand up to other PCs...
Thanks for any help.
Oh yeah, level 1.

This DM needs a smackdown. Take your query to the Character Optimization (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=339) board. Just let them know what's going on in your game, and give them as detailed a description as you can for what kind of character you want.

Good luck, and godspeed :)

Two words: Planar Shepherd.

Niiinja'd ;)

As for VoP monks, I think a monk without any equipment will have some problems. Now, a VoP druid - that is some nasty stuff. VoP Planar Shepherd is even more dangerous.

That being said, if your group thought THAT was broken, they know nothing of powergaming. Heck, at that point, just playing a Druid would probably be enough to take everybody down...

Just play a Warforged who is also an Epic Major Artifact.
Be sure to build a city-sized mech and call yourself a god. Its what I do.

Or, failing that, play an intelligent swarm and become a Vermin Lord. Once you get the Hivemind ability, you'll get Sorcerer spells and free bonus feats just for having HP. The more HP you have, the more Sorcerer spells and feats you get.

Really, how did they break the VoP monk? It's not that powerful, I see it as playing into the RPing. If you want broken play a druid, if you want really broken play a planar shepard. Que rant on how monks are awesome, and VoP is not as good as having magic items. At least, without VoPeace.

EDIT: I should add that I have used a VoP monk before, and am using a VoP/VoPeace monk/cleric (1 level of monk for the feel, and of course the AC), and neither has been broken, especially compared to druids. VoP looks awesome at first, but really it's meant for people who go into VoPeace to make it work right. Just don't become a saint, cause if you attack someone who is evil, even for non-lethal, you will deal lethal.

Planar Shepard (Faiths of Eberron) is one of those PrCs that just screams broken right from the text. Wild Shape into an Outsider and create a planar bubble around yourself. Come on, whats not to love?

Play a mute kobold bard unarmed combatant.

I played a VoP monk once. It wasn't too broken, but it was real boring when we got loot, cause I got nothing. Also, that campaign didn't last too long....maybe til 5th or 6th. So I ain't no expert.

Has anyone tried the VoP ninja yet?

I tried a V.O.P fighter, she was also a spellfire wielder, she died at 7th level and hasn't been ressurected yet, but she was pretty fun to play.

Vow of Poverty and Monk a broken combo? Not really. Sick a Fighter with some decently picked feats on the VoP Monk in an anti-magic field(where VoP stuff goes away) and that monk will die just like another character in an anti-magic field.

Ah, but the monk doesn't lose his natural armor, armor, or ability enhancements, because those are all (ex).
