| Nomad1602-28-05, 01:33 AM | I was wondering if anyone could suggest a list of spells used in buffing a cleric? i have access to 9th level spells but i wanted to stear away from the healing cleric that i started out. I tried to find them all myself but i believe i missed many since i suck =) i dont seem to be able to hit in melee, and when i do hit i dont do any damage... i have access to CD, Defenders of the faith, PHB (natuarlly), BoeD, Bovd, CA (dunno if it has cleric spells), Masters of the wild, Tome and blood. I am evil, my domains are destruction and trickery. Thank you for reading |

Like raising your Cha, getting Strands of Prayer Beads(Karmic), orange Ioun Stones(as many as possible), and getting a really big magic stick(club, basically, preferably a +1 with a ton of enhancements, of the correct size for your post-PAO body), armor and shield, also with +1 and as many enhancements as possible. Also, what level exactly, and what wisdom? Now, you'll want to find something big and strong to Polymorph Any Object(Trickery domain 8th level spell) yourself into. Permanently. It really doesn't matter what, as long as it's strong, and intelligent. Firbolgs are fairly popular for this, I understand. If you grow to large size then cast it, you should hit the 9 points for permanency without needing the same or lower intelligence. Now, then. You want Extend Spell, Persistant Spell, and Divine Metamagic: Persistent spell as feats. Oh, and Power Attack(you should have plenty of extra bonus to use). And the rest should probably be Extra Turnings. Spells you buff with(when you wake up, make sure you max your caster level for all of this by using karmic prayer beads, if you can get your caster level to 30, you're golden.): PHB: Divine Favor: 1st level(cast Persistent at 7th) Shield of Faith(unless you have a +5 deflection bonus from elsewhere): 1st level(cast Persistent at 7th) Magic Vestments x2(one armor, one shield): 3rd level, lasts all day anyway. Divine Power: 4th level(Divine Meta'd Persisent) Greater Magic Weapon: 4th Level Freedom of Movementx2: 4th level(extended to 5th level, the second cast when the first runs out, which will be about 7-8 hours after you cast it) Righteous Might: 5th level(Divine Meta'd Persistent) Complete Divine: Spikes: 3rd level Greater Visage of the Deity: 9th level (Divine Meta'd Persistent) If you have Persisent Divine Meta'd left over, use these(or just cast Time Stop at the begining of each fight, then cast these): Spell Resistance(alternatively, Mass Spell Resistence from CD): 5th(7th) level(Divine Meta'd Persistant) Divine Agility: 5th level(Divine Meta'd Persistent) CD Righteous Wrath of the Faithful: 7th level(Divine Persistent) CD Recitation: 4th Level(Divine Meta'd Persistent) CD After all of that, you should have little trouble beating up pretty much anything. |
| Nomad1602-28-05, 05:56 AM | This character just re-entered into a campaign after my first character *coughDiedcough*. So unfortunatly (since it was painfully obvious that the group needed a cleric, i volunteered to take a switch off of my origional character (wizard) so now i am stuck at 28th level (as a drow) and really kinda in the dark, i have played cleric before, and usually play a healer, but that is just so boring....so my feats are open, my wisdom is 18+5 inherant+6 abilities+6 eq for a total of 35. What source are the karmic prayer beads? Are orange iouns from the DMG? I am a little confused on how i polymorph? where can i find the rules for polymorphing myself into somethin big and nasty?...like Planetar nasty? What does polymorphing into a Planetar do to ECL? Also i am NE in alignment, so somthing big nasty and evil would be best. This seems like a fun class to play, and thats the most important thing for me. My group seems to have a problem with roleplaying, but that dosnt mean i cant have fun learning new tricks with an old class =) Thanks again Nomad |

Some on these boards think you should. Try a Pit Fiend, if your DM lets PaO go above 15 HD creatures. If not, Planetar is probably the best, even if it is a good creature. Just think of how fun it would be doing all kinds of evil stuff disguised as a Planetar, though. I think that would be a better form than an "evil" one, especially if you worship a god of Trickery. |
| Nomad1602-28-05, 06:33 AM | Where can i get information on what my stats become for planetar? This polymorph thing seems buff, like real buff... |
| Neeek02-28-05, 06:54 AM | Where can i get information on what my stats become for planetar? This polymorph thing seems buff, like real buff... The MM. Under the description of a Planetar. You get their normal stats. However, that's not actually what you want to do. What you *really* want to do is layer as many templates as possible on top of the Planetar and get all of their bonuses without actually raising the HD. I'm fond of the Were-bear/Half-dragon/Paragon/Vampire/Half-Golem myself. btw, your wisdom was over the margin necessary to do everything I suggested. And you're immune to dispels, for the most part(other than, sigh, MDJ), which is good. |
| Nomad1602-28-05, 08:02 AM | all right, thanks alot neek...it appears that i have some reading to do. |
| SamiPeikko02-28-05, 09:08 AM | How did you get past the limit of "no polymorph to outsider unless character already is one"? Best I could do (in last edition) was actually Stone giant. Other giants have bad DEX bonus (hurting your touchAC), and it is legally 15HD. |
