This is my second crack at this, and I haven't managed it yet (fortunately, some very good books came out since my first try, so hopefully they'll have some input).

Basically, I'm trying to create a villain who can create all those wonderful, wacky dungeons we all know and love. To me, this means:

A) Can build traps
B) Can create fun illusions
C) Can enslave/convince all the local beasties to do his evil bidding

And if at all possible, I'd like to do it by CL 12 (ECL 14 once I add the Vampire template. Mua ha ha.)

I was thinking that I could start with a Factotum or Beguiler, then add some sort of Prestige class. Beguiler would probably be my first choice, but the lack of Craft as a class skill is prohibitive. Factotum's poor spellcasting makes it difficult to charm monsters (or even villagers to build the darn dungeon). Wizard would probably be another acceptable choice, but they don't get the Trapfinding ability which nets you the Trapsmith PrC.

As you can see, I'm burdened by choices. Any ideas? Am I basically crazy for trying to do it in twelve levels?
