| Karasuko12-21-06, 08:48 PM | Hi guys! :D I was wondering if a PC can multiclass as a such-and-such/Aristocrat, or is Aristocrat strictly NPC only? My Sorceror comes from a noble family, so I was wondering. Thanks! :king: |
| Artector12-21-06, 08:50 PM | In theory, yes, but its really up to your DM. |
| Mitchell12-21-06, 09:11 PM | Agreed. Unless your DM thinks that the NPC classes are NPC only because if a PC took one they would break the game, as opposed to them being labled NPC class because they are generally sub-par, then I don't see a problem. |

Go with a PC class and just roleplay being a noble. NPC classes are just plain weak in comparison. |
| Thomas_Covenant12-21-06, 10:16 PM | I'm sure I saw some rambling mention in the DMG that Aristocrat should only be allowed to PC's as first level, not later on, for world consistency. The idea is it's something you're born into, not an adventuring class you focus effort on. For a PC: Bard, Rogue, maybe Paladin for first level, depending on what kind of "noble" you're trying to be. No rule you can't multiclass in NPC classes, but they're inferior by design, so the DM should make some effort to discourage this, if the party doesn't. |
| Karasuko12-21-06, 10:29 PM | I see. :) I guess the Aristocrat class isn't actually needed to be noble. And it would lag down my Sorceror after a while anyway. I guess I'll just stick with being a Sorceror with a noble history. :king: :mage: Thanks guys! |
