Can anyone give me tips on which spells i should take? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-03-06, 04:00 PM Can anyone help me select spells for a fighter wizard eldritch knight? The only books available are PHB, PHBII and spell compendium, which my friend is bringing. What im mainly after are decent buff spells like stoneskin and dragon form. Stuff like that for each spell level.

We are gonna be playing a game all week thats the reason i would like tips for each spell level please. Thanks.

One little-noted gem is Fist of Stone. Should appear in Spell Compendium. 1st level spell, and it gives you an impressive Strength bonus with one hand. Try eet, you might like eet.
2nd Ed Paladin
08-04-06, 11:08 AM The above are good ones. Remember your caster level (barring the feat Practiced Spellcaster) will not be as high as most of your opponents. Therefore I would take buffing spells and spells that are no save (ranged touch or touch spells usually).

This means that the save will be easier to make and the level dependant damage not as high.

enlarge ***
the ability buffs like bulls strength,bear's endurance etc, also consider the mass versions at higher levels
blur
sheild

globes of invulnerability
the Bigby's hand spells ***
keen edge
the magic weapon spells ***
ropetrick ***
mirror image
ray of exhaustion
scorching ray
shocking grasp ***
spell turning
stoneskin ***
truestrike ***
the "wall of "series (good for battlefield control)
