Can I multiclass into this? [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-04-04, 12:33 AM I am lvl 6 monk at moment but once I hit 20, I was thinking of taking on psonics (spelled wrong?).

Is that possible?

04-04-04, 12:40 AM Totally. Of course, this assumes that your DM allows you to. Not everyone uses Psionics.

04-04-04, 04:53 PM Do note that it is not a very good combo min-max wise, but it sure is flavorful. I would recommend talking your DM into allowing you to apply your monk levels, or at least part of them, to your manifester level to overcome PR.

That said, the epic monk is no a very good choice, but you will lose out a little on the epic bonus feats (1 per 5 levels). Can be quite a hit to you when you are about 40ish level and full powers from psion.

Another option would be to make up a couple of "psi-power like" epic feats for monks.

04-04-04, 05:28 PM Take a look at the Diamond Warrior PrC in the Mind's Eye column on the WotC site. It's a monk/psionic hybrid prestige class and it would be better than what you're proposing, at least from a Character Optimization point of view.

If you just want to roleplay discovering your psionic powers at 21st level (which alot of games don't even get to, much less progress past), then I guess you won't like it. But low level psionic powers aren't going to be adding very much to a 20th level monk.
