As the title suggests, I would like to hear someone's opinions on a matter. To tell the truth, I'm working with a Half-Elf Ranger, and I really don't know what Prestige Class I want him to go into. For starters, he's an Archer. Second? I don't want to add any classes to compromise his abilities (a.k.a., no Wizard to become an Arcane Archer, or anything of the sort). I'm looking for a class that would blend easily with his abilities, and be more of an asset to his archery than a liability.

the deepwood sniper is an exellent one. my brother played one at sixth level with a flame burst bow, he was doing over 50 damage a crit and blowing the **** out of everything in sight. all their abilities bolster their archery skills and you need no other classes to get it.

Go with the Deep wood sniper that is basicly your best choice if you are using a bow it is in the masters of the wild book. I played a 10 ranger and 6 deep wood sniper and had a nice crit range and a shocking bow and was dealing arround 50 to 120 damage per round and shooting 6 arrows in a round. With the rapid shot and many shot feat I would deffinetly suggest going with that.

I would reccomed that you take Order of the Bow Initiate. If possible, go get some info on the Scout class (in Complete Adventurer) and Multi-Class that with your Ranger.
I don't know about damage and all that, but it will tie in well.

You may not want to Prc but if that's the case Deep woods Sniper. The other thing you may do is bump over to fighter for a few levels to pick up a couple of feats. Not really a Prc but would help your archery out.

I have been playing archers for ages. I Know that the dark wood sniper is a good class to go into as is the order of the bow initiative. I have no idea why you went ranger cause fighters are just so much better for archery because of the feats!!!! Try rouge for sneak attacks. Good luck. Currently i am playing a 25level archer thing (Elef: 5levels ranger; 6 levels fighter; 10levels deep wood sniper; 4 levels order of bow intiative...) YAY EPICNESS

Hope this Helps

Well, I wanted a Ranger because, frankly, I like his nature feats. I like that he gets an Animal Companion, and other stuff like that. He gets free Archer-based feats at certain levels, and he can cast divine spells. Screw the fighter! I have five characters, one being a Fighter already, and I don't want any multiple classes. So, that's why I'm sticking with a Ranger Archer. :P

Try rouge for sneak attacks.
Also, try rouge to hide "problem" areas!!!!
Just.Couldn't. Resist.

Order of the Bow Initiate The best 3.5 pure Archer PrC I've seen yet... now if Deepwood sniper was remade to 3.5 that would likely be a better choice.
