| ZeroAvatar03-29-06, 02:20 AM | I remember leafing through some sourcebook or other that I had in my possession, and I remember seeing a class (or prestige class) that got an ability to get an improved critical effect that stacked with the improved critical Feat. Now I can't remember where I found it, or what class it was. Can anyone help? |
| runestar03-29-06, 02:22 AM | weapon master prc? Think it should be from OA for neverwinter nights. |
| ZeroAvatar03-29-06, 02:47 AM | No, it's not that one. It might have been in the BoVD, but I can't find it there either. Maybe I just made it up, although that would be really weird. |

At level 7 you get the Improved Critical feat for free, if you already have the feat you add an additional +2 to the weapon's threat range. The prestige class also has the feature of being able to increase your weapon's critical hit damage multiplier a certain number of times per day. This is one of the few prestige classes to make it into Neverwinter Nights, where it gained the reputation of allowing an insanely overpowered build if the character wielded a scythe, which is why most people associate the class with that particular video game. It's generally considered that the prestige class is a bit too powerful, and because of this Wizards of the Coast never, to my knowledge at least, duplicated the ability in another class and didn't update it to 3.5. So unless I'm mistaken, if this isn't the class you're thinking of then it doesn't exist. I'll be the first to admit that I don't have the best of memories, however. |
| arson03-29-06, 04:05 AM | however, the psychic weapon master did make it to 3.5. If you already have Improved Crit by 7th level, you get a further +2 to threat range. The requirements are pretty steep though. |
| ZeroAvatar03-29-06, 06:37 AM | Weird, because I'm positive I wasn't perusing that particular book when I came upon that class, and it certainly wasn't any Weapon Master type. The ability it had was a Supernatural ability gained at a certain class level. Oh well. |

Namely, the ability Iron Power. |

The Book of Vile Darkness is 3.0 too. I'm not aware of a 3.5 update to it's material since it wasn't included in the list of revised content downloadable from the official Wizards site. I just can't see an ability that triples a weapon's threat range and stacks with Improved Critical making it into 3.5 when Keen doesn't even stack with Improved Critical. |
