If i can, I assume it would lower the damage dice the blast does accordingly. I don't have any books handy. is there any way to make make this work? |

| Tempest Stormwind05-25-07, 11:47 AM | They're not spells, they're spell-like abilities. So no. You'd need to apply the meta-spell-like-ability feats, such as those in the back of the monster manual. |

| Pentar05-25-07, 02:33 PM | thanks! I am the Dm, so- I think I will allow that. any idea how to make him extra nasty? I just used a Warlock for a BBEG and he was quite nasty. If you give him a one or two Rods of Eldritch Power (or whatever they're called), it really broadens his range of shaped or modifying invocations. Add the Ability Focus (Eldritch Blast) or Empower Spell-Like Ability feats and he becomes really strong. I particularly liked the Invocations that caused Blindness, Sickness or Nausea, rather than additional damage. Don't discount the Chain Eldritch Blast ability. Even though it only does 1/2 damage to chained targets, it still hits them with the invocation effect; like blindness/sickness, etc. |
| Ethandrul05-25-07, 02:40 PM | i'm not discounting that ability- but the buid i want to use only allows for 1 power of that level- and I was thinking invisibility. that way, he can chain his blast, while making it sneak attacks and steal 2 spells- which he could use to channel arcane strikes |
| Oliver D'Argent05-25-07, 06:47 PM | The only metamagic feats that are officially legal to use with invocations and other spell-like abilities are the Sudden metamagic feats found in the Miniatures Handbook and Complete Arcane. Those can only be used once per day, so they are rather more limited than the meta spell-like feats. |
