They've changed some defenitions so that a quickened spell is "sudden", which is basically a new type of free action that can only be done once in a round. Also of note is the immediate action, which can be done on anyone's turn.

A Quickened Spell is no longer a free action; it is considered a Swift Action, which is like a free action, except you only get one per turn.

You can, however, cast a quickened spell, and then a regular spell.
