| hiryuu10-15-06, 02:47 PM | One is a standard action that you end with a melee atack, the other is a standard action the you use a melee attack in conjunction with, so, no. |
| InkBlot10-15-06, 02:53 PM | If hideous blow is anything like shocking grasp, then you can hold the charge (PHB p141-142). If you hold the charge on one turn, you can use it in a manuever on your next turn. |
| Oliver D'Argent10-15-06, 03:02 PM | I'm thinking that it is not like Shocking Grasp - the single weapon attack is an integral part of using the invocation, so I am pretty sure it can't be held from one round to the next. |
| JoAT10-15-06, 04:07 PM | No, but consider using Eldritch Glaive (from Dragon Magic) with some of the swift boosts. A full round of touch attacks amped up by Inferno Blade isn't too shabby. Of course, I'd rather combine them using something other than the Jade Phoneix mage, as many of the class abilites are dependant upon, or enhanced by spell slots, which the warlock doesn't have. |
| Oliver D'Argent10-15-06, 04:19 PM | Eldritch Glaive is a much better melee invocation, I think, than Hideous Blow is. (btw, JoAT, really like your sig - two of my favorite Pratchett books.) |
