Can you exchange maneuvers of one class if you multiclass with another? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Let's say for example, I have a warblade5/rogue2 character. Upon reaching rogue 2 (CL 7), I gain maneuvers and stances as if I were a level 6 warblade. So far so good. But, can I exchange a level 1 maneuver to get a level 3 maneuver at this point?

I am asking because the text says "Upon reaching 4th level, and at every even numbered warblade level after that (6th, 8th, 10th, and so on), you can choose to learn a new maneuver in place of one you already know."

What bothers me is the line"warblade level". Does it have to be strictly a warblade level, or can 2 levels of rogue in the above example be considered as warblade levels for the purposes of learning a new maneuver in place of another?

I would imagine yes, but I am not sure. Thanks.

It must be a warblade lv.

Note that a warblade5/rogue2 merely has an initiator lv of 6. Your 2nd lv of rogue does not allow you access to new 3rd lv maneuvers. The only benefit is if you take another lv of warblade, you now have an IL of 7, letting you swap out an old maneuver for a new, 4th lv maneuver.

Indeed, those exchanges specifically ask for warblade level, and multiclass initiator increases specifically describe only initiator level.
