Well I made this for its speed and ambush capabilities: Hide and Move Silently 0 at normal pace of 40ft or -10 while charging. If the enemy is flat-footed during your charge you would Shift, Cast Rhino's Rush (your only ranger spell) as a swift spell, then charge. Pouncing ambush so full attack x2 damage versus your flat-footed foe then run away the next round at 60ft or climb up a wall at 30ft. Repeat charging or fire from a distance (you do have a higher dex +4 than normies) |
| Amazing_Triangle02-26-06, 08:07 PM | My goal is to make the best scout possible one that can hidden when needed and can do some real damage in combat. Lets say level 15 can you come up with one? --All books are open to use (keep it D&D but other than that any book is usable) --32 Point buy with the 3 stat boosts for leveling --200,000 gp (now don't go stingy on armor and weapons) This has to be a playable build, I want to use it in a game here in 3 weeks Happy Creating! :D |
| demonic_dante02-26-06, 08:30 PM | If you have the book, the scout from CA will help greatly, I would replace the ranger with that, I would also replace reach runner with weretouched master. That is a good simple one, you could also take a 1 level dip into the ranger class, for track. I don't know what book dread commando is in (i dont think i have it) so I can only assume it is an amazing choice and should not be replaced. Remember to get a lot of shifter feats, and gorebrute would probably be a good idea, you should really make that first charge count (then run away). Also, why cliffwalk, I mean it has so much more flavor but I would think the ability to fly outweighs the ability to climb (read: I forget the specifics but flying sounds better) |
| Amazing_Triangle02-26-06, 10:04 PM | I I don't know what book dread commando is in (i dont think i have it) so I can only assume it is an amazing choice and should not be replaced. The reason for Ranger (granted scout is better for a scout) is that Dread Commando requires +5 bab and Scout doesn't get that till level 7. It also grants ease with armor (Check penalty down by 4) and 0 penalty when moving at full speed and -10 on a charge. That is why I chose it. I am not set on Shifter I really am not sold on the class. Hero's of Battle 10 Reasons to get Hero's of Battle (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/news/20050502news) "5. Dread Commando: This new five-level prestige class grants a qualifying character a full base attack bonus plus 3d6 points of damage with a sneak attack." Also what book was Weretouched Master in? |
| GlitterBoy02-26-06, 10:22 PM | Dread commandos rock hard! Don't forget they have sneak attack. They are from Heros of Battle. I highly recommend the book if you can get it on ebay for 20 or less. I in fact found it a great book for Spycraft. |
| HappyDragon02-26-06, 10:23 PM | "5. Dread Commando: This new five-level prestige class grants a qualifying character a full base attack bonus plus 3d6 points of damage with a sneak attack." Also what book was Weretouched Master in? Just incase you weren't aware, it's not Sneak Attack damage, but Sudden Strike damage with the Dread Commando. And the place you're looking for the Weretouched Master is in The Eberron Campaign Setting book. Cheers. |
| Amazing_Triangle02-26-06, 10:59 PM | Just incase you weren't aware, it's not Sneak Attack damage, but Sudden Strike damage with the Dread Commando. I know but that is what it said on the D&D website about the class. I love the class. And thanks I will look in the Campaign Setting Book. |
| GlitterBoy02-27-06, 01:02 AM | Just incase you weren't aware, it's not Sneak Attack damage, but Sudden Strike damage with the Dread Commando. Also it stacks with sneak attack. |
| Amazing_Triangle02-27-06, 08:06 PM | Geez that was a low turn out. No one must have any good scout builds. |
