Carmen Sandiego [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-19-06, 07:25 PM For some reason, I was stuck on Carmen Sandiego the other day, and began thinking about what classes she would be. I would think rogue for obvious reasons. But maybe a spell thief due to the fact that she can get away with stealing some rediculous stuff, so I think she has to have some magical abilitly to steal stuff and escape. What do y'all think.

Rogue is a given, I'll accept Sorcerer, Shadow Dancer is a must as well. Maybe maybe a few levels of Ninja and/or Monk to augment her martial arts, armor class, and (in the case of the Ninja) climb speed.

Classes... hmm... Exemplar? Shadowdancer is a possibility. Hard to say, you don't actually see her much, sneaky woman...

I remember that show... There was also a "Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego" game show...
As for the extra classes, all she'd really need is the Shadowdancer... Shadowdancers can jump between shadows, so she wouldn't really need some of the other classes...

10-21-06, 01:59 AM I think she would be a Charisma based Rogue/Spymaster, with a hat of disguise and a trenchcoat of invisibility (as ring of invisibility, but occupies cloak/cape/mantle slot), along with the Run feat and boots of haste. All of her magic items would be technological instead of magical, like the meta-materials based "invisibility" shield being worked on in the UK.

note: I never played the game for more than 10 min. At best, my exposure to her is from the saturday morning cartoon.

10-21-06, 03:06 AM Carmen sandiego? Funny story about her in a D&D game. I went to a friend of mines house (never met any of the people playing before, not my usual group) for a one-shot humour game. We were told to make the best imitation of a character from a game/anime/ect. I made Carmen, A rogue/thief acrobat. I got to the game any found out I had Alucard, Vash the Stampede and Edward Elric as the other party members (we probably should have spoken before the game about what each of us would choose). There were big fights over magical trenchcoats in that game.

Anyway, back on topic, Carmen would probebly be a Thief Acrobat

Oh god. That sounds... interesting...

Alucard- *kills a bunch of people*
Vash- "No! Killing is wrong! Stop it!"
Alucard- "Whatever, you loser." *rips Vash apart limb from limb*
*Turns to Edward*
"Hey, wanna be a Vampire? You could regenerate those limbs and everything."
Edward- "Hm... sure!"
Alucard- "By the way, where'd Carmen get to?"
Edward- "She said something about going to steal the spire underneath Sigil..."

10-21-06, 06:58 PM I do like the idea of thief acrobat, and was thinking that myself actually just after I made the original post. Personally, I think rogue, thief/acrobat, shadowdancer would be the best combo. As for the easy escapes/magic, I would say that she either would steal or commission something along the lines of an amulet to teleportation, or something similar that would allow her to get away easily. That way you don't have to waste levels or sorceror.
