Blaster or Utility is the real question. Without any more info, I'm afraid I can't help further.

hmm...i guess i want to be able to confuse the crap out of people and then turn around and nuke them...kinda like hte cup mixing trick where you put something in a cup and mix it around w/ 2 others...but this time when the open the cup their face gets melted....that kind of stuff.

well, beguiler or spellthief are both sneaky-type casters, and if you then moved onto warmage...perhaps thats viable.

or, ensure you get silent image as a sorcerer spell, so you could actually make it screwing around with cups while you're invisible a few feet away. people'd think there is some moron messing with them and then you could open up all kinds of silly fun on them.

Beguiler from the Players Handbook 2 is a rather awseome little caster that is fun to play, it doesn't get alot of nukage but every so often you can add a new enchantement or illusion spell from the wizard/sorcerer list to the spells you know so it could work out well for you. ;)

actually, IMO a wiz with school specialisation evokation is a better blaster :D

the question is do you want someone who is knowledgable and calculated or someone one with magic, acting on impulses, ...
