Ebb_Lurecia 01-18-04, 09:48 PM	Hmmm. Ok. I want to play a Mind Flayer PC, and I'm thinking about going into the Dragon Disciple prestige class immediately after my monster progression. However, one of the prerequisites is the "ability to cast arcane spells without preparation". Some of you already know what I'm going to ask :P Could the Mind Flayer's psionics be considered "arcane spells" for this purpose? I realize psionics and spell-like abilities don't always mesh well, but under the description in Savage Species: "The effective sorcerer level...". Ergo, the psionics are "arcane", and also don't have to be prepared. Just want some opinions. Eh, I dunno how well this'll do on this particular board, but I figured I'd try it.
Zombie Lord 01-18-04, 09:53 PM	I would say no. Psionics are not spells. They just look like spells to facilitate games that don't use the psionic rules.
