I have a dwarven paladin in my current campaign who has requested a wolf mount, I worked up something special for him and I want to get some feedback from you all as to the appropriateness of the power level of this mount. I didnt go with the standard abilities in the MM but rather took the standard point buy for my players, subtracted 10 points and added the wolf modifiers, then increased the HD to 4 to make it a large creature, then added celestial template and then made it a paladin mount.

Do you all think I need to tone this down a bit? I want him to have a badass mount, something special, but I do not want it to monopolize combat situations either, with a monk and a scout also in the party. The paladin in the group has pretty pathetic damage compared to these 2 right now so I am hoping this will help him feel a bit better about his character, its his first paladin and he doesnt realize how mean he is going to be later on. Having only the +4 BAB will only allow it the one attack so hopefully damage output won't be too horrendous, but a Large Celestial Wolf should still be pretty mean.

Why not just use a Dire Wolf with the celestial template?
