| Epicweaver02-24-06, 05:52 PM | I'm considering building a Cerebremancer (ECL8) for a campaign to start soon... But I'm stuck with a few questions. I'm planning on taking Precocious Apprentice (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20041114a) to "get in early". I assume that it's a legal move, if it's not please let me know. Race - I'm tossed up between Human and Elan... The extra feat will help, but I really can't stop staring at the "oh crap lemme spend power to react to XXX". Plus I feel like I've played a ton of humans already. Arcane Class - I'm tossed up on whether to go Wizard or Sorceror. With Wizard I'd get higher level spells sooner and share the same casting stat. With Sorceror I could be more "on the fly", but I'm not sure which spells would mesh well with the psionic counterpart. Psion Class - I'm taking a hard look at Egoist, but I'm not sure... Maybe Kinectist or Telepath would compliment the class better? So what do you think? I pulled a build from the Psionics board for a kobold sorceror/psion(egoist) that looked pretty good as far as feat progression, but I'm not sure how to pick powers to compliment each other. Any advice or suggestions? |

Seen several threads about the max damage you could do in one round using charge and power attack. My DM would have us face guards with halberds and the power attack negating feat Elusive Target (CW110). You have GOT to be versatile. I love the Elan - meditate for 4 hours instead of sleep and not affected by humanoid spells. Don't forget to make your weapon Deep Crystal. I am about to start playing a three-character game where I know I will beat on so I went Paladin1> Psion3 > Wizard1 > Runesmith2 > Cere. Lets me wear full armor and shield. Powers - anything that doesn't allow saves is preferred. Just depends if you want utility powers to buff your party or damage dealers. |

But Dual-Plane Summons allows you to when summoning to spend half the number of Power Point on Astral Construct (minimum 1) and apply any of the menu option that you could summoned creature. That would really make good use of the Augment Summons and Construct Boost Feats as well. |
