Chameleon Spell Durations

Ok the example I'm giving is the actual instance that is causing the concern. A Chameleon casts animate undead to raise a wolf-like creature (16 HD) into a skeleton. He pays the material components and the spell works the skeleton is created (the spell is instantaneous).

What happens after 24 hours when the Chameleon changes to lets say fighter based Aptitude Focus and loses his cleric casting?

Two players are arguing that after his Aptitude Focus changes he looses control of the undead because he no longer has cleric spells. The other argues even stricter saying that "Even if the Chameleon chooses cleric focus again for the next day there was still a temporarily loss at the end of 24hrs and looses the undead even if he takes the focus again for the next day".

The examples of Dominate person, Charm Person, Rebuke/Control Undead, and others also depend on a similar opinion. What should happen?

Thanks in advance for the comments

I'd say read the text of those spells. I'm inclined to say they function normally, even if you change your focus or mimic class ability.

See the text of those spells doesn’t say anything about needing to retain your cleric casting ability... heck a rogue with a scroll of 'animate dead' and ‘use magic device’ will keep his so I'm inclined to say he keeps the undead.

Thanks for your input; if anyone else has opinions to add I'd like to hear them.

In addition to my first question can I cast domain spells since they are by definition divine spells?
