Changing Geomancer over to non Druidic Background? [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-23-04, 10:59 PM Ok, the geomancer class is cool and all, but i was wondering if anyone had thought up a more fitting way to allow a non Druid character to take it (Such as a Cleric/Wiz, or a Mystic/Sorcerer), i know alot of the ideas would have to be changed.

The Ley Lines could probably be kept as is, the Spell Versitality could be too, but what about the Drifts?

My idea was to have drifts towards Elemental, Magical Beasts, Celestial, Demonic, and Outsider, instead of towards natural creatures (thou a few magical beasts are on the drifts already).

Anyone have any good ideas? Currently im trying to make a list for the drifts, but not getting too far, anyone else willing to help?

02-23-04, 11:13 PM The Geomancer prestige class can be taken by anyone that can meet the prequisites, not only by druids. Clerics can qualify for the class. (Oddly, it seems to be best suited for wizards.)

As to changing the drifts, my advice would be this: leave the ones in the book alone. If you would like, feel free to add some new, homebrew versions to better suit your character. I already have worked out some with my DM, it's pretty easy.

One last bit of advice: Run a search on Geomancer on the message boards. It should show some interesting threads for you to look at. I found some new drift ideas there. {Shameless plug} I also have a modified version of the class called a Divine Vagrant you might look at.

02-24-04, 01:05 AM Cool, ill look into that, and i had done a search but hadnt found much in what i was lookin for.

I know any class can take it, but the drifts arent suited to a non druid IMO, but yeah ill prolly work out some non natural drifts with my DM when i take this class. Its something fun for my MT to do after level 18 :)
