Hi everyone, I need advice... I recently killed off my bard in a group that desperatly needs a cleric... I was thinking of going Favored Soul, and that would work great, however here is where my dilemma comes in. One member is a true necro, going Lich.... another is a black guard/cleric wanting to go undead, and the third is a dwarf fighter/cleric that is dabbling in necromancy. I know I need to choose some sort of PrC, or subclass that will allow me to heal both the undead and the live members of my party. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sasha, Advice 1, your members are messed up :)

Tho here it is :) besides your group being messed up in more ways then 1, But let me ask you a question tho ?

Why do you want to make a cleric ?, Apparently to me, you have atleast 3 healers ?, Unless you want to go and make a pure cleric whos more specialized then the rest in your party ?

I would suggest pure Cleric,......im unsure on clerical PrCs because I usually dont play clerics, im more of a rush in hack slash player :), BUT! if you wanna to heal both alive and dead members, I would suggest sticking to Pure cleric, then memorize Inflict wounds spells to heal your undead members, and cure wounds to heal your alive members, Or, Take a few lvled of ftr, atleast 2 lvls, for the feats, and the HD and stuff, then switch to cleric and stick with that,

Then maybe get the Feat, Practiced Spell Caster, I think thats whats its called :),

Other then that im of little help :)

Being able to heal both is easy. Either channel positive energy and prep plenty of inflict spells that you can spontaneously trade in for cures, or channel negative and prep cures that you can spontaneously trade for inflicts. I'd go with the latter - the idea of Rebuking your allies is just too funny.

I was going to suggest the opposite, but this changes my mind. Not only go for rebuking them, but encourage the live ones to seek out some way to gain the undead type. Likely with templates. :schemes:

you could also go for a psion(egoist)/sangehirn build. or possibly some other psion/sangehirn, though it will cost you more feats i think.

but anyways, psionic healing will heal any creature, as far as i know... (barring spell resistance and whatnot).
