Character Level 5 PrC? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-08-07, 06:15 PM Are there any PrCs which can be entered into at CL 5? If so, what are their requirements and what books are they listed in? I've gone through and checked a couple of the books I have but most of them are around CL 7 or 8 for entrance.

06-08-07, 06:50 PM There is a PrC in Savage Species, I think it's called Survivor or something, and it's one of the weirdest classes ever, it gets Evasion, Uncanny Dodge, the improved version of each, the 3 good Saves, has NO BAB progression, and the requirements are that all your Base Save Bonuses are lower than your HD and some feats I don't remember.

As all PC classes has at least 1 good save this is only attainable at level 5th (good save being +4)... but there's always the NPC Class "The Commoner" who qualifies for this at 1st level! Hurray for the commoner.

Anyway Savage Species is 3rd Ed.

Anyway, I am thinking of a Wizard or Sorceror for the base class, but I might be tempted to go Bard if I absolutely *have* to. Of course, I *might* just go through the steps to become a True Necro or a Pale Master ... but those would be CL 8 or 9, I think.

06-10-07, 04:38 AM There are lots of PrC's which you can enter at low levels. In fact, the kind ladies and gentlemen of the CharOp board already have at least one list of early entry prestige classes (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=662842). Thank them and enjoy.

06-10-07, 06:51 PM Master Specialist is the lowest I've seen (as mentioned above). Its also the best way to go into Archmage. If you want to be a specialist wizard then there is no reason not to take master specialist. Expanded spellbook, the free feats and the esotericas are all worthy class features. The moderate esotericas can arguably be the best feature of the class since they happen every time you cast one of your specialist spells, which should be almost every round. Combined with the Focused specialist class feature you are the best arcane spell caster: As many spells as a spontaneous caster, more versatility, normal metamagic, and special abilities. If you aren't planning on going into archmage at 14th level, then consider being an abjuration specialist with focused specialist, master specialist PrC and then Abjurant Champion. A mage who is nigh invulnerable.
