| boccione09-03-04, 10:00 AM | Hi guys, im stuck with a doubt, that even the last 3.5 faq don't remove. Let's say that i'm building a new character, a half dragon half human. By the faq he is on the 1st character level (1 class level, zero racial HD), and on the 4rt Effective Character Level (1 Character Level, +3 to Effective Character Level for the half dragon template). Now the question is: he gain only the starting feat plus the human bonus, or he gain the starting feat, the human bonus, the 3rd level feat and a characteristic increase? And also, how many xp he need to gain a level? 10000 (the xp needed to go from 1 to 5 level) or 4000 (the "gap" from the 4 to 5 level)? Thanks for the patience, and fare thee well. Boccione |

What you do is make a 1st level character and slap the halfdragon template on it. If you just follow the rules for creating a character and applying a template you don't have to worry about extra feats or skills. XP is calculated by ECL, thus a 1st level halfdragon wizard needs just as much XP as some fighter lvl 4 to 5th. |
