Must specialize in either the Enchantment or Illusion schools. Nimble Casting (Ex): When you cast a spell with a somatic component, you may make a Sleight of Hand check. If you do, use your check result in place of the spell's DC. You may only use this ability with a spell if your Dexterity score is greater than or equal to [the spell's level+10]. You do not recieve synergy bonuses on this check. Spell Memory: A charlatan can only know a # of spell "pages" equal to their charlatan level*15. For example, a 2nd-level charlatan could only know 30 spells (0 or 1st-level; each of which would take up 1 page in a spellbook). A 3rd-level charlatan could know 45 "pages" of spells (37 1st or 0 level spells and 4 2nd-level spells, for example). An exception to this rule is that a 1st-level charlatan can know 25 "pages" of spells. Learning a spell has no gold piece cost; however, to learn a spell, the charlatan must make a Sleight of Hand check with a DC equal to the Spellcraft check for learning a new spell. As usual, no check is required for the 2 spells learned with a new level. The charlatan prepares his daily spells from his spells known rather than from a spellbook. |
