This needs to be verbal, as it only affects allies who can hear the marshal, but requires no action (it's a swift action to start an aura, but continuing an aura takes no action). The amount of communication seems minimal, since, A - you can have two up at once and B - you can have them both up perpetually even when not in combat. So, what else can you do with your voice while still maintaining your auras? 1. Normal speach? 2. Command word activated item? 3. Give instructions to commanded/controled creatures? 4. Use sonic supernatural ability? 5. Cast a spell with a verbal component? 6. Use Bardic Music(oratory or song)? |

Although, I'd say that perhaps for the effect to trigger, there'd need to be a command/encouragement/berating from the Marshal. For example, with my Marshal, he has Motivate Dex on perpetually, for those times when weh get ambushed, we want good initative roles. So whenever we are walking through a forest or cave or some other sort of dense terrain, Belial (my marshal) will say "Be on your guard". Thats it. In battle, the enemy is far away, suspect to a charge. Belial raises his sword and yells "ONCE MORE INTO THE BREACH MY FRIENDS" (cause it's so cliche and cool) I dont think he is saying it once aorund. I think just the command he gives his men is enough to set the aura to work on them. |
